In a bid to expand its omnichannel approach in India, IKEA, Sweden-based home furnishing retailer, has launched a shopping app. The app will offer 7,000 home furnishing products.
Now customers from Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Surat and Baroda will be able to buy products with a click on their phone.
The app will be through a combination of big IKEA stores, smaller city-centre stores and online platforms. It will help IKEA connect with customers who, in the current scenario, prefer shopping online.
It is worth mentioning here that IKEA is building stronger digital capacities and will expand to more cities to meet 100 million people in the coming years.
“We are now one step closer to making every day better with our on-the-go e-commerce service. Health and safety is a top priority for us, and hence the launch of IKEA app is another touch point to make home furnishing accessible to many people and ensure customers can shop safely from their homes,” said Kavitha Rao, Country Commercial Manager, IKEA India.
Founded in 1943, the home furnishing retailer generated €41.3 billion in 2019 and as of March 2021, has 378 stores operating in 30 countries.
