The High Court in Bangladesh has recently ordered Shamima Nasrin and Mohammad Rassel, the chairperson and CEO of e-commerce platform Evaly, respectively, to share password of Evaly’s server as well as passcodes of the electronic locks with Mahbub Kabir Milon, who has been appointed the Managing Director of the e-commerce company by the court.
Media report maintained this adding, hearing a petition filed in this regard, High Court bench of Justice Muhammad Khurshid Alam Sarkar passed the order even as the bench, reportedly, asked the concerned jail authorities to facilitate the same as both Shamima Nasrin and Mohammad Rassel are in jail currently pertaining to different cases filed against them over misappropriation of funds.
The same bench of the High Court, in the meanwhile, rejected a petition filed by 30 consumers of Evaly to recover around Taka 19.1 million, which they had invested in Evaly earlier even if the court had earlier asked consumers not to ask for refund from the newly formed Board of Directors, in the next 6 months.
