The prestigious British luxury department store Harvey Nichols has hired, Laura Larbalestier as their next Head-Buying Director, with effect from 13th August 2018. She will be replacing Anita Barr, who left earlier this year.
Ms. Larbalestier previously held senior positions in buying and merchandising at Browns and Selfridges, and her last job was as a Buying Director at Boutique 1. At Harvey Nichols, she will be accountable for menswear, womenswear, and accessories’ buying through the business.
Of late, Harvey Nichols has been on an expansion streak. Last month, the brand unveiled a redecorated designer womenswear floor at their Knightsbridge store. Soon, other stores across units of United Kingdom will be going through the same process.
Last week, Harvey Nichols came into a strategic distribution partnership with Marc Jacobs’ Beauty line. In addition, the luxury house has signed an exclusive, multiyear e-commerce initiative with Farfetch, aimed at extending its global audience and fast tracking its digital strategy. According to the agreement, Harvey Nichols has been successfully utilising Farfetch’s e-commerce and logistics platform. They are also introducing facilities like in-store returns and same-day deliveries.
According to a statement by Ms. Larbalestier, the incredible opportunity to join a brand with such a prestigious history is once-in-a-lifetime occasion and she cannot wait for the journey to begin. The brand’s Co-COO’s Ms. Manju Malhotra and Ms. Daniela Rinaldi expressly welcomed the new member, acknowledging her expertise and experience in the fashion sector.
