Italian sportswear giant Fila has partnered with Norblack Norwhite (NBNW) for its latest streetwear collection. The apparel line offers Indian fusion of the streetwear range and has NBNW’s iconic bandhani print and gender-neutral pieces.
The collaboration between the two brands showcases Fila’s eagerness to tap the Indian market and shift its creative control from the brand’s headquarters. The upcoming collection will be made available for the shoppers by the end of the next week.
Mriga Kapadiya, co-founder, NBNW said that the label has always unabashedly celebrated textiles, colours and patterns, so applying its aesthetic within the bounds of Fila has helped the company push the envelope on our creative capacity. “It also led to many firsts, designing shoes and socks has been one of our favourite parts of the process,” she said.
The upcoming collection will offer various merchandises that include baseball jerseys, hoodies and t-shirts with embroidered Fila logo on the products along with accessories such as shoes, socks and others.
Amrit Kumar, the creative force behind the label, elucidated that “We wanted to apply our love for pattern and colour while keeping the creations breathable and digestible in the sporty space. We also had a fair amount of fun playing with our colour palette for the classic FILA logo.”
Notably, the collaborative collection hit the market on 24 November 2018 marking the first big collaboration of NBNW with an established fashion brand.
