FILA has announced its Fall Winter 2020 collection! And what’s it about?
It’s an ode to the heroes in sports who have achieved insurmountable feats. From scaling the highest mountains to breaking speed records, their courage, tenacity and determination are the values that have inspired the collection.
Antonino Ingrasciotta and Josef Graesel, the creative directors, wanted to celebrate the legendary accomplishments in the field of winter sports of the men who wore FILA.
And there couldn’t have been anything better than launching collections completely dedicated to these heroes.
Reinhold Messner was the first person to reach the top of Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen, sporting his unforgettable blue FILA overalls and Ingemar Stenmark won the alpine ski race World Cup in 1987 wearing the famous reinforced and tailored, yellow and blue ski jacket.
The heights featured on jackets, sweatshirts and tops are a nod to the altitude of the summits that Messner conquered, while Stenmark’s jacket has been modernised to become a feature in an urban, sporting and high-performance winter wardrobe.
To reflect the style of some of the most famous American skiers, the Mahre twins, FILA has developed colour-blocked sweatshirts and trousers with padded 3D detailing.
The collection embodies the soul of FILA along with its authentic colours– white, red, navy, dark blue and accents in black and yellow.
