Anthropologie, US based fashion retailer, owned by Urban Outfitters, has reportedly appointed former Jigsaw Chief Executive Peter Ruis as its Managing Director of International Operations, effective from July 9. The reported appointment is a part of company’s reorganisation.
Anthropologie’s President Andrew Carnie will be his reporting boss. Ruis, in this newly created role in the company, is likely to be responsible for its operations in UK where brand operated 11 outlets.
Before Anthropologie, Ruis also served John Lewis where he served the company as Executive Buying and Brand Director. He also served Levi Strauss & Co. and Ted Baker in Product and Brand Management roles.
The latest reported development has come after David McCreight, former CEO of Anthropologie and President of Urban Outfitters, left the company in April this year.
Anthropologie, BHLDN, Free People, Terrain, and Urban Outfitters are major brands operated by the Urban Outfitters. Presently, the retailer operates around 250 Urban Outfitters stores in the US, Canada, and Europe; 226 Anthropologie stores; and 134 Free People stores.
It is pertinent to mention here that Anthropologie is one of the original lifestyle brands whose unique lens on the world has served as a compass in customers’ lives for nearly 24 years. The brand is known for offering unique collection of women’s clothing, accessories, home décor, furniture, gifts, and more.
