
One of the leading retailers across the globe, Dollar General has announced setting up of a new Distribution Centre in Georgia (USA), which will be the 15th facility in the retailer’s growing distribution network. The company is planning to begin construction on the project by summer this year and complete it by summer/fall 2017.
To be set up across the area of one million square-foot with an investment of approximately US $ 85 million, the new centre is expected to create around 500 job opportunities. “This state-of-the-art distribution centre will help support our rapid store growth throughout Georgia and the southeast. It is exciting to see our business continuing to grow and create new jobs across the country,” averred Todd Vasos, CEO of Dollar General.

The new distribution centre is expected to service more than 1,000 stores in the southeast. The retailer at present has more than 700 stores and over 5,000 employees in Georgia. Its 14 other distribution centres are situated in Alabama, California, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.
Currently operating 12,483 stores in 43 states, Dollar General sells products from America’s most-trusted manufacturers like Mars.
