Consumers of Bangladesh’s e-commerce platform eorange, which has, reportedly, failed to deliver products on time despite advance payments by the buyers, have filed a writ petition with the High Court to get back their money, which they claimed to have invested in the e-commerce platform even as they, reportedly, submitted copies of vouchers and purchase orders amounting to Taka crore with the petition.
This was maintained in media reports, which added Supreme Court lawyer Mohammad Shishir Manir recently filed the petition representing 33 consumers of the e-commerce platform (eorange), pertaining to scamming and money laundering even as the lawyer, reportedly, claimed that consumers from different parts of the country have spent lakhs of Taka in the platform.
The Supreme Court lawyer further, reportedly, added that the aggrieved customers did not receive their products that they had ordered from eorange, neither did the e-commerce platform offer any refunds for failing to deliver the products even as he sought directive of the High Court on investigating transactions of this sector by the authorities to check if the platforms have actually committed the offenses.
