Champion’s new owner, Authentic Brands Group, has named Brand Collective as the sportswear company’s new licensing partner in Australia and New Zealand.
In addition to owning companies like Volley, Elka Collective, and Shoes & Sox, Australia-based Brand Collective is currently the operating partner of companies including Canada Goose, Clarks, Hush Puppies, and Authentic-owned Reebok.
David Thomas, CEO of Brand Collective, stated that the inclusion of Champion in this lineup is a “great chance to use our assets and experience to help Champion reach its greatest potential in the ANZ market.”
The new agreement paves the way “for a thrilling new phase of regional development and innovation,” according to Authentic, which purchased Champion earlier this year.
Jarrod Weber, global president for sports and lifestyle at Authentic, elaborated on this, saying the business was “assured that this collaboration would provide outstanding prospects, ranging from fostering new connections with customers to propelling expansion in important areas.”
It is anticipated that the sale of Champion’s businesses in Australia and New Zealand to Brand Collective will conclude on 31st January 2025. Until the closure, the company will remain a part of Hanes Australasia.
