Boohoo, the British fashion e-tailer, has struck a partnership with Alshaya Group in the Middle East.

Alshaya Group, which at present operates Debenhams stores in prominent shopping malls, will now have exclusive rights to run Debenhams stores and a local online platform in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar and Egypt.
Besides, the deal will also see the British e-tailer’s brands in Debenhams stores from the fourth quarter of this year. Additionally, it will there on a new local online platform across the Middle East from early next year.
Debenhams has been quite popular in the Middle East over the years and this deal could further help expanding product ranges and brands.
More on this, John Lyttle, CEO, Boohoo Group, said “It’s a new route to market for brands within the Boohoo Group, raising their profile in a growing new market.”
He added that the Group is now looking at wholesale partnership opportunities to continue scaling the Group.
The British e-tailer, which was set up in 2006, specialises in own brand fashion clothing, with over 36,000 products. It also saw its revenue surge by 32 per cent to clock £486.1 million in the first quarter that ended 31 May 2021.
