As part of its ongoing expansion efforts in the UK, Marquee Brands’ British heritage menswear brand Ben Sherman is set to build two new mono-branded concept retail stores. After launching a pop-up shop in Coal Drop Yards earlier this year, Ben Sherman is expanding its retail presence with the flagships in Brighton and Soho, London.
The menswear company announced in a statement that Brighton and Soho had been selected as the permanent full-price retail sites because of their “deeply rooted significance” to the brand’s six-decade existence.
Ben Sherman created his own shirt company in 1963, set up a factory in Bedford Square, and launched his first store, “Millions of Shirts Inc.” on Dukes Street in Brighton. He then added a second location on Carnaby Street in Soho, London.
The 677 square foot central London store, at 97 Berwick Street in Soho, will open in time for the August Bank Holiday weekend, while the new 1,300 square foot Brighton store, at 19–20 Dukes Lane, opened this week.
The Signature and B By Ben Sherman collections are available in both locations, which are intended to provide a “quintessential Ben Sherman shopping experience.” A joint capsule collection that will debut in early September will also be available in-store, though the brand has not yet disclosed all the specifics.
