A court in Bangladesh’s Chuadanga recently placed the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the e-commerce platform Adyan Mart along with two other people on a three-day remand related to a fraud case.
Media reports maintained this adding Senior Judicial Magistrate Manik Chandra Dash passed the order and asked police to interrogate another accused at the jail gate considering his age even as earlier the members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), reportedly, arrested Adyan Mart Director and his brother Mahmud Siddique Ratan, their father Abu Bakar Siddique, CEO Juabayer Siddique Manik and the platform’s Manager Minarul Islam.
Later, the police, reportedly, produced the arrested persons before the court seeking seven-day remand for each, for the sake of interrogation even as the investigation officer of the case, Sub-Inspector Gopal Chandra Mondol, reportedly, informed the media, the court had put the three accused on a three-day remand after hearing the police’s petition.
Reports claim the e-commerce entity had managed to get huge orders from across Bangladesh but they did not deliver products on time even if it had allegedly also closed down its customer care and all other offices a few months ago.
