E-commerce platform Alesha Mart, subsidiary of Alesha Holdings Ltd. (which started operations on 1 January this year), which has been in news recently along with some other e-commerce entities due to the so-called alleged anomalies amidst a boom of online marketplaces offering deep discounts and lucrative offers, has decided to temporarily halt its operations citing “security concerns.”
Media reports maintained this citing a notice issued by the said entity in this regard.
“…we are being forced to take the move as a group of people assaulted some of our staff members,” reportedly, maintained the notice adding it will resume activity once adequate safety is ensured.
Alesha blamed some “outsiders” who allegedly assaulted its staff while claiming refunds in its office and demanded providing security even as officials at the Commerce Ministry, reportedly, underlined the ministry would write to the Home Ministry to ensure Alesha’s office security if it applies for the same even as reports claim Alesha owes several hundred crore Taka to its customers, as per estimates by some of its sellers and customers, who spoke to the media on this issue.
