Asos gets new COO as it aims to enhance its technology and logistics

UK-based leading online retailer, Asos has appointed their current supply chain director, Mark Holland as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO), as the company works on its multi-year investment in technology and logistics.

The online fashion destination that retails apparel for younger generation elucidated that the new position will help Holland add the management of the brand’s transformation projects to his responsibilities.

Asos’ transformation projects include its upcoming automated warehouse scheduled to be opened in Atlanta, adapting fresh retail planning and merchandising system and the automation of the brand’s fulfilment centre in Berlin.

Notably, Mark was already leading the charge of the company’s global trading, customer care and supply chain sections.

Furthermore, the British e-commerce player is also refurbishing its London headquarters and customer care centre in Leavesden. Meanwhile, Mark, who has completed six years at the company, will continue to report to the CEO, Nick Beighton.

Markedly, Asos is betting big on technology to make sure its position as a leading fashion e-tailer stays intact. In 2017, the firm registered a growth of 26 per cent in its retail sales, while profit soared up to 28 per cent to £ 102 million.
