The festive season is nearing and Amazon still seems to have lots of unfilled job vacancies.
The American e-commerce giant is, therefore, offering £3,000 for new workers in Devon (England) so that they join the firm much before the festive season starts.
In fact, the shortage of staff in the region has been giving headache to several e-tailers. It’s been the same for Amazon, as a result of which the e-commerce pioneer has now decided to offer a ‘signing on bonus’ for warehouse workers.
Besides the bonus, there will be hourly pay of around £10 to £20, which will be open till the end of this month. The offer is seen as an effort to bring in full-time picker/packer, in order to sort and dispatch parcels.
Also, Amazon has, reportedly, said that it will pay for any travel requirements needed for the new staff to travel to the depot in the city of Exeter in Devon.
Here it is important to note that the number of people claiming benefits in the South West has fallen by one-third year-on-year.
Last month, for its US frontline workers Amazon had announced that it will be paying for educational expenses.
