Amazon, the US e-commerce giant plans to launch a 45,000 sq. ft. photo studio next year in London to support the growth of its fashion sales. With 35 employees and 50 freelancers, it will be housed in an eyeglass factory in Hoxton at Geffrye Street, and will be larger than the company’s 40,000 sq. ft. Brooklyn image studio, which was opened in 2013 that provides images for Amazon’s American fashion business. Sergio Bucher, Vice President of Amazon Fashion EU, said, “Fashion is one of the fastest growing businesses for Amazon across Europe and the creation of this new studio illustrates both our ambitions in this area and our dedication to providing a first-class customer experience. Our new studio will enable us to produce high volumes of top-class photography by employing great talent in one of the leading fashion capitals of the world.”
