Allbirds, the renowned footwear and apparel brand from the US, has said that it is committed to source wool from regenerative sources by 2025.
As per media reports, the brand said that by next year, it will unveil its first products made from sustainable fibre.
Besides, Allbirds will be closely working with all its current suppliers to attain its target of shifting sourcing completely by 2025.
The move is also seen as a part of the brand’s continual efforts to ensure that its wool supply is carbon neutral in next 4 years.
And to make this happen, Allbirds plans to focus on regenerative agriculture, which is a natural farming method that can extract carbon out of the atmosphere, which is then absorbed back into land.
Known majorly for designing and selling footwear and apparels, Allbirds generated US $ 100.2 million back in 2019.
Allbirds today has retail stores in many countries including the US, New Zealand and China. Recently it also collaborated with other brands to make limited edition products – brands such as Nordstrom and Outdoor Voices.
