The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has lately declared a multi-year partnership with sports apparel brand Puma. This partnership involves Puma supplying apparel, footwear, and accessories to about 400 Indian athletes for both domestic and international competitions. Distinguished Indian athletes like Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra, steeplechaser Parul Chaudhary and long jumper Murali Sreeshankar, will put on Puma gear as a part of this sponsorship deal.
Neeraj Chopra shared his zeal for the partnership, highlighting the importance of top-quality gear for best athletic performance after years of devoted training. He stressed the importance of this partnership in providing Indian athletes access to globally acclaimed training gear, nurturing improved performance across all levels of competition. Furthermore, he underlined the partnership’s potential to create a promising future for Indian sports.
A particular importance in this collaboration is the launch of Puma’s famous speed suits to Indian athletes for the first time. These suits are recognised for their ability to improve freedom of movement, aerodynamics, and overall speed during competitions, intending to optimise athletes’ concentration and efficiency on the track.
AFI President Adille Sumariwalla highlighted the milestone this partnership symbolises for Indian athletics. By providing high-quality gear, the AFI intends to not only improve athletes’ performance but also develop a culture of excellence inside the nation’s sporting community. It is thought that this partnership will push Indian athletics to greater heights in the international arena.
