It may be noted that the brand filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection due to its inability to face the challenges of the competitive market, edging towards fast-fashion and online platforms. Recently, the brand was acquired by Authentic Brands Group (ABG), General Growth Properties (GGP) and Simon Property Group (SPG). While ABG has a global portfolio of fashion, sports and entertainment brands, GGP and SPG happen to be two of the largest retail real estate companies in the world.
