
An estimated amount of Taka 100 crore has been refunded by 13 crisis-ridden e-commerce entities in Bangladesh to around 9,689 affected customers till date.
Media reports maintained citing sources from the Commerce Ministry, according to whom the amount has been reimbursed through 12,078 transactions.
Amongst those who refunded the customers are Dhakamak.com, Shreshth.com, Alifworld, Qcoom, Alesha Mart, Dalal Plus, Boom Boom, Anander Bazaar, Tholey.com, Bangladesh Deal, Sophectic, Adyan Mart and 99-global.
It may be mentioned here, as per an estimate of Bangladesh Bank, Bangladesh’s central bank, the customers’ funds were stuck with 25 e-commerce platforms, which was estimated to be more than Taka 500 crore even if an earlier estimate put the amount at Taka 214 crore.
