
In a public-private partnership, the Pran-RFL Group will develop facilities on the site of two closed mills owned by the Bangladesh Textile Mills Corporation to produce textile-related goods.
Following a recent meeting, Cabinet Secretary for Coordination and Reforms Mahmudul Hossain Khan informed the press that the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved suggestions in this respect.
According to him, the organisation will be leased a total of 20 acres of RR Textile Mills land in Chattogram’s Sitakunda for a period of 30 years.
In the meantime, at a meeting, the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase agreed to extend the period that it would buy power from the gas-based Shahjibazar Power Company by five years. The Government will pay the corporation Taka 7.04 per kilowatt for electricity during that time.
