Garment manufacturing industry will be promoted at Rapthadu Assembly constituency in Anantapur district.
Manufacturers from different hubs like Tirupur and Jaipur have visited this place and explored opportunities to invest here.
As per media reports, a group of apparel exporters of Rajasthan visited a few places in Rapthadu and the team also saw the 60-acre vacant land alongside the Alumuru Jagananna Colony.
Thopudurthy Prakash Reddy, MLA, Rapthadu said that the manufacturers seemed intent upon utilising the land in view of the easy availability of the workforce.
He also informed that some entrepreneurs and manufacturers from Tirupur Garment Manufacturing and Exporters’ Association in Tamil Nadu also had come and inspected the land here to assess if such units could be set up here.
The MLA said that Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is contemplating about setting up manufacturing units in adjoining spaces of Jagananna Colonies to generate employment opportunities for those living in the colonies.
