Under the auspices of the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM), the Government of India seeks to close the knowledge gap between academia and industry by providing students with practical experience and exposure to the textile sector. This initiative recognises the importance of young talent in the Indian textile industry. It issued a challenge to those in the industry to rise to the occasion and reclaim India as the global leader in textiles.
The government-industry relationship has resulted in the approval of ColorJet Group, the leading wide-format inkjet printer manufacturer in India, by the NTTM under the Ministry of Textiles. This collaboration is a big step in the right direction for the industry’s innovation and skill development. It’s in line with the mission’s goal of making India a global leader in technical textiles by giving BE/B Tech students from the top 200 NIRF-ranked universities internship opportunities.
The R&D team at ColorJet Group will be instrumental in developing the next generation of engineers and professionals in the technical textiles industry through the Technical Textiles Internship Initiative Grant for Internship Support in Technical Textile (GSIT) – 2.0. This program, which is a component of Phase II of the Internship Initiation Program, aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry by providing B.Tech. students with exposure to a variety of specialisations and real-world experience.
The chairman of ColorJet Group, M.S. Dadu, emphasised the company’s dedication to promoting innovation and talent development while expressing gratitude for the government of India’s endorsement of the program. He underlined ColorJet’s conviction that India’s youthful talent has the ability to propel the sector ahead and make a global impact.
Enhancing academia-industry links, offering organised industrial placements, and exposing students to real-world technical problems and managerial abilities are some of the main goals of the Technical Textiles Internship Initiative. Through its involvement in this program, ColorJet Group hopes to introduce students to the latest advancements in technology, as well as the applications and components of quality control unique to technical textile printing.
