Under the guidance of the Association of Industries Madhya Pradesh (AIMP), industrialists from Indore recently met with a delegation from Coimbatore’s spinning units, who are looking to grow their operations in the Indore region.
The industrialists highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s advantages as a leading cotton-producing state with a significant textile and garment manufacturing presence, making it an attractive location for the textile industry.
Kasi Viswanathan, a procurement and manufacturing consultant from Coimbatore, stated, “We are exploring opportunities in MP to establish a new spinning unit. With two existing units in Coimbatore, we plan to invest around Rs. 100 crore. Given that we source around 50 per cent of our raw materials from MP and a large portion of our finished goods are distributed there, MP presents a promising investment opportunity.”
The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) noted that several textile industries from Tamil Nadu and other South Indian states have recently visited MP to explore industrial land, with some expressing interest in investing in areas like Neemuch and its surroundings.
The Coimbatore delegation toured the PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park in Dhar district and other industrial sites. Viswanathan added, “We met with senior MPIDC officials in Bhopal and Indore and engaged with local industrialists to understand the state’s business environment and facilities.”
Additionally, the delegation, along with other industrialists, had previously met Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav during his roadshow in Coimbatore, where he invited them to the upcoming Global Investor’s Summit.
AIMP president Yogesh Mehta commented, “We hosted the Coimbatore delegation, who are interested in setting up a spinning unit in MP. We discussed possible locations, benefits, and the total viability of the investment.”
