The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) has recently signed two key Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Noida Apparel Export Cluster (NAEC) and the Garment Exporters Association of Rajasthan (GEAR) in Mumbai. These strategic partnerships are set to enhance the capabilities of garment manufacturers in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan by leveraging their collective strengths and broadening their market reach both domestically and internationally.
The MOUs are designed to boost trade interests, organise joint initiatives, foster knowledge sharing, and enhance participation in trade fairs. Additionally, they aim to offer a unified industry voice to Central and State Governments, advocating for regional garment manufacturers.
Rajesh Masand, President of CMAI, noted that the partnership with NAEC would grant UP’s garment manufacturers, especially those in the Noida cluster, access to CMAI’s extensive network of buyers and retailers across India. Lalit Thukral, President of NAEC, highlighted that this alliance represents a significant step forward for the garment sector in UP.
In a similar vein, GEAR has renewed its MOU with CMAI, continuing a successful partnership that has already yielded positive results for Rajasthan’s garment exporters. Zakir Hussain, President of GEAR, expressed optimism about the ongoing success of this collaboration. Rohit Munjal, Vice President of CMAI, added that the renewed partnership would further enhance Rajasthan manufacturers’ visibility in the domestic retail market.
