The State Government of Bihar (India) recently organised a business meet in Ludhiana, Punjab to draw investment and to strengthen its textile industry.
The meet was organised in association with Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), the official body of apparel exporters in India.
At the event, policies and schemes launched by the State Government were also shared to make industry people aware of such initiatives and their benefits.
A detailed presentation on infrastructure, ease of doing business and availability of land and skilled workers in Bihar was given by Bihar Principal Secretary (Industries) S Siddharth at the event.
Participants were also apprised about the availability of electricity and the potential of the large domestic market as the State is a home to more than 11 crore people. Also, the Bhagalpur region is famous globally for its distinctive type of tasar silk and coarse varieties of silk fabrics.
According to the official, Bihar Government has about 2,000 acres of land which can be allotted to investors. An online single window clearance system has been initiated for the investors to submit their business proposals.
The move is expected to pave the way for a hassle-free process to get land approval online on the proposal of their investment, informed S Siddharth.
Harish Dua of AEPC on behalf of the participating industrialists assured a visit to Bihar soon to take the final call on investments in the State.
