
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi recently maintained there was huge scope of boosting trade with seven north-eastern states of India, popularly known as the seven sisters even as he suggested the Indian state of Assam could take expert trainers from Bangladesh and thus groom its apparel workers as skilled workforce.
This is as per media reports, which added the Bangladesh Commerce Minister made the observations during a recent meeting with a delegation from India led by the incumbent Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Assam, Biswajit Daimary.
Tipu Munshi also termed India as a friendly nation as well as a trade and development partner of Bangladesh while adding apart from apparel, various other ‘Made in Bangladesh’ products are also popular in India.
