The Asia Foundation — The Asia Foundation is a non-profit international development organisation committed to ‘improving lives across a dynamic and developing Asia’— has launched a Leather Development Forum (LDF) in Bangladesh recently.
This is as per media reports which added the Foundation has consulted Germany development agency GIZ to set up the platform with the aim to ensure that all interventions in the leather sector are as effective and sustainable as possible; maintain better coordination and collaboration; create synergy; and avoid duplication among various organisations.
Reports further added the Foundation started implementing a project in 2018 to promote decent work and acceptable working conditions in the tannery industry.
