As the COVID-19 pandemic progresses, there has been acute shortage of masks globally, and now apparel manufacturers in California transit to make face masks to serve the medical community and health workers.
The masks made out of cotton are breathable and washable. While these masks are not medical grade, the demand is so huge that hospitals have been asking for them.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a recommendation to general public that if surgical face masks are not available, homemade masks made out of bandanas or scarves can be used.
An apparel manufacturing company in California – AST Sportswear/Bayside Apparel of Brea – shifted from making T-shirts to manufacturing face masks.
Importantly, smaller companies are also getting involved!
One of the apparel manufacturing units in Los Angeles, ‘Sene’ makes China-based supply chain made masks that are breathable, stretchy and waterproof.
The activewear and fashion brand Rogiani with its headquarters situated in Los Angeles designed mask covers to help fight against the pandemic.
