Kidbea, a bamboo-based children’s apparel business, has secured US $ 1 million in a pre-series funding round backed by venture capital firm Venture Catalysts. Kidbea is a bamboo plant-based, skin-friendly, and comfy children’s clothes company founded in 2021 by Swapnil Srivastav, Mohammad Hussain, and Aman Kumar Mahto.
Agility Ventures and BestVantage Investments also participated in the investment round, as did people such as Sandeep and Upasana Agarwal, the founders of Droom, Ashok Bahadur, together with a group of seasoned angel investors, and Hiro Mizushima, an acclaimed actor in Japan.
According to the reports, Kidbea will utilise the funds to grow its personnel, strengthen marketing and branding campaigns, and improve operations. A substantial amount of the funding will also be dedicated to research & development and technology.
Apoorva Ranjan Sharma, Co-founder and Managing Director of Venture Catalysts, stated, “Choosing to invest in Kidbea was an obvious decision for us. With India’s daily birth rate topping 67,000 children, Kidbea has a significant chance to target the market across both urban regions and small communities, spurred by new parents’ increased awareness of sustainable and eco-friendly clothes. Kidbea’s creative approach and commitment to quality connect with the evolving expectations of conscientious customers. We believe Kidbea has the ability to not only reinvent children’s fashion but also make an important contribution to the environmentally friendly fashion scene.”
Kidbea is currently accessible on every online platform and in over 30 partnering stores located in premier children’s hospitals. Kidbea has also expanded its worldwide reach to include the UAE, Bahrain, and Australia.
According to the founders, Kidbea had an 8X sales increase in FY ’23 and aims to grow into a Rs. 500 crore business in the following three years.
