
Banks and non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs) in Bangladesh have disbursed around 80 per cent of the CMSME yearly loan disbursal target from January to June this year.
This was claimed by media reports, which maintained the loan disbursement to the cottage, micro, small and medium enterprises (CMSME) sector has gained pace with improving COVID-19 pandemic situation even as they maintained as of the end of June, Taka 2.30 lakh crore has been disbursed to the CMSME sector against the yearly disbursement target of Taka 2.85 lakh crore.
Meanwhile, speaking to media, experts have, reportedly, claimed the small businessmen had suffered the most during the coronavirus pandemic even as credit distribution amongst small entrepreneurs decreased at that time while adding with the pandemic situation improving now, entrepreneurs are again taking loans from the banks to run their businesses consequent to which, loan disbursement has increased compared to the same period of last year.
