Turkish textile company Ayka Addis Textile has been acknowledged as the top textile and garment export performer in Ethiopia for the 2013-2014 season. The company was established in 2010, and since then it has generated more than 10,000 employment opportunities and has the capacity to export textile products worth US $100 million annually. “At least US $63 million of the total US $111.45-million textile export revenue recorded in Ethiopia was earned by Ayka Addis during the reported period,” says Bantihun Gessesse, Communications Director, Ethiopia’s Textile Industry Development Institute. He further added, “Products were exported mainly to Germany, Turkey, China, Italy and the US, among others.”
